Embarking place for our private boats

Please be on time for the (private) boat and take your ticket with you. The private boats always leave at the agreed time and we can not hold the boat for guests who are late. Unfortunately, it is very well possible that you can not join a later boat because your ticket expires after the agreed time. In case you need to catch the boat when there is availablity we will ofcourse always be flexible.

The seats in our bigger private canal boats (30-40 seats) are along the sides of the boats. The boats are heated and there is usually a toilet on board. Often there is also wifi. A skipper/guide will be present explaining the artworks.

Embarking location:
The embarking space is next to restaurant NEL. The official address is Amstelveld 10. A few minutes walk from the Utrechtsestraat and relatively easily accessible by car.

Most of the time there will be someone from our organisation welcoming you who can be recognized by a white jacket and a light chain. The Water Colors art route takes up to 75 minutes depending on weather and traffic on the canals.

Route directions to the embarking location:
The Amstelveld 10 s easily accessible from the Central Station by Metro.

Metro: on the North- South line (52) take exit Vijzelstraat. Leave at exit Prinsengracht. Once out of the station walk to the right along the canal until you reach a bridge. Turn left on the bridge and you will be at the embarking place.

Cancellation in bad weather

In case of bad weather we will be cancelling the boat trip: only if Waternet, the local canal authorities, or the Amsterdam Light Festival Foundation indicates that it is no longer safe to cruise. You will be notified immediately of every cancellation and we will convert or refund your reservation afterwards. Unfortunately, bad weather in the rest of the Netherlands does not mean that weather is bad in the capital.

Should there be a canal boat which is broken for any reason, we will first try to replace your booking to a later boat. Only after two hours delay you will be eligible for refund. You will receive a written instruction on the spot in case of cancellation.
